Our Company History

‘When the wheels are turning, I’m earning’ - Sid Osborn

When Sid Osborn initiated Halso from a simple caravan on a Lichfield airfield in 1967, the future scale of the business was unimaginable. The name ‘Halso’ was derived by combining the names of three founders: Bill Allen, Sid Osborn, and another key contributor. Starting from these modest origins, the company has undergone significant expansion, transitioning from a caravan to enduring wooden huts, and ultimately to modern offices we utilise today. Renowned for our unwavering commitment to customer service, Halso stands as a symbol of enduring quality and success.

Halso, now a leading industry provider with roots extending back three generations, remains committed to exceptional customer engagement. Since our inception we have evolved from serving local farmers to accommodating major corporations. Sidney George Osborn, founder of Halso in 1967. His favorite saying was, “Anything can be sorted out around a table with sensible people.” His side hobbies included managing Halso and watching football, and he admired Sir Stanley Rous, CBE.
